What is Adult ADHD?

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a disorder of attention and impulsivity. ADHD can have negative impacts on mood, relationships and professional growth.

ADHD has long been thought to be a disorder that only affects children. However, around one-third of those diagnosed with ADHD during childhood experience ongoing symptoms into adulthood, with a lifetime prevalence around 8% for adults in the US.

  • Failing to give close attention to details
  • Difficulty sustaining attention
  • Difficulty following through with instructions
  • Difficulty organizing tasks
  • Being easily distracted
  • Forgetting items necessary for tasks
